Imagine it: For 62 days, getting up at 5 AM, riding a bike for six hours, averaging 70 miles or more a day. Following this, you eat dinner then spend time with people with disabilities, only to do it all over again tomorrow.
When 21-year-old Mitchell Danford went to college, he knew he wanted to do something to help people.
A group of 28 cyclists and 9 crew members peddled into Abilene this afternoon participating in Push America's Journey of Hope. This journey began 30 days ago in Long Beach California to Washington D.C. they are cycling to raise funds for people with disabilities.
ABILENE, Texas - "Journey of Hope" riders left Long Beach, Calif., on June 2. Tuesday, they arrived in Abilene as part of a fundraising bike ride across America.
The message was "I'm just like you" during the Journey of Hope team's "Kids on the Block" puppet show at a YWCA children's class on Tuesday.

Every year the Journey of Hope TransAmerica team visits the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for a tour thanks to former Push America Board of Directors Chairman John Pierce, Beta Eta (Florida State). During the tour the team met Paralympic athletes like cyclist Todd Key and Sochi bronze-medalist Keith Gabel (pictured).
