Reed, a junior at Mercer University (Alpha Alpha), is studying electrical engineering. He was selected to be a rider for what is known as “The Journey of Hope.” He is the son of Marcus and Patti Wells of Moultrie. The Ability Experience, formerly known as Push America, is the national philanthropy for the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity with the mission of “building leaders of tomorrow by serving people with disabilities today.”
“Patti and I are very proud of Reed’s commitment to Journey of Hope. This is something he has wanted to do for several years and now he is only one of two riders from the state of Georgia. What a great way to represent Mercer University, his fraternity and his hometown of Moultrie,” said Marcus Wells.
The Ability Experience not only reflects Pi Kappa Phi’s core values of “Teamwork, Empathy, and Integrity,” but reflects the mission to use shared experiences to support people with disabilities and develop men into servant leaders. The raised awareness puts the abilities of all people front and center in their daily work. These young men do not simply raise money, but also experience the power of service as they promote the abilities of all people, said Journey of Hope administrators
