Trevor A. Hamlin

30under30 LOGOTrevor has always been passionate about academics. As an undergraduate he served as scholarship chair and fostered a sense of academic excellence for Zeta Chi. After his time at Albright, he attended the University of Connecticut and earned his Ph.D. in physical organic chemistry. Trevor has successfully written grants and has been funded by the National Science Foundation, published more than twelve scientific papers in peer reviewed journals, written two book chapters, given numerous invited lectures, and actively mentored undergraduate and Master’s students with their research and studies. He currently is in Amsterdam with a funded postdoctoral fellowship at VU University Amsterdam. There he performs cutting edge research on DNA stability and replication, using high-level quantum chemical calculations.

Advice for students and young alumni:
“Make the most of every experience life throws at you and never be afraid of the opportunity to step up and be a leader during tough times. You must never accept anything less than your absolute best effort.”
