The United States had not yet entered the great conflict. Our report was therefore a little more than a summary of the avenues through which the fraternities
in the United States had been contributing to the defense program.

In April 1942 the US war effort was beginning to ramp up production following the attack on Pearl Harbor just four months prior. Fraternities, and specifically Pi Kappa Phi, did their part in this great conflict. Not only did Pi Kappa Phi support the war effort in World War II, but in each conflict from WWI to Operation Enduring Freedom, members of Pi Kappa Phi have sacrificed for their country and the freedoms which enable their membership in fraternal organizations.
