Texas A&M brother travels to Nicaragua with non-profit Global Brigades

Whittet traveled with a group of Texas A&M students to volunteer for Global Brigades – Public Health, a non-profit organization. Whittet, along with other volunteers, helped empower rural communities to prevent common illnesses through in-home infrastructural development, community leader training, and health education.

The group built sanitary units that included a restroom, shower, and hand wash stations. When talking with Whittet about his trip he commented that, “The overall trip was incredible. Meeting the families in the communities and seeing how truly happy they all when they have so very little to begin with was very eye opening. I am thankful that I got to serve families in need.”
