Why did you sign up for this event?
I signed up for this event because in my time at Virginia Tech, I have spent a lot of time working with Special Olympics of Southwest VA. I started with Special Olympics Bowling, then I coached Special Olympics Basketball and Special Olympics Softball. I enjoyed my time volunteering so much that multiple brothers recommended that I would really enjoy Journey of Hope.
What are you most excited for this summer?
I am most excited for all the memories that will be made this summer. I want to change the general perception about philanthropy; Philanthropy is not just about giving money; it can also be about giving your time. What I love most about helping people with disabilities is that you can give back just by being a friend.
