Alpha Chapter spends afternoon helping individuals with disabilities

On Saturday March 21, 2015, the Alpha Chapter (Charleston) of Pi Kappa Phi spent the day helping individuals with disabilities enjoy a game of baseball at The Charleston Miracle League. Philanthropy Chairman Jeffrey Heath organized the event and over 90% of the brothers was in attendance. Over 100 service hours were credited and the chapter will be returning to participate on April 11. Associate member and Pledge Class President Blake Norman said "It was one of the most rewarding and unique experiences that truly impacted me. Putting into practice what the brothers and the White Diamond teaches us makes me want to give back to the community even more." The Alpha Chapter also has a bike-a-thon planned with NPHC Fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Incorporated, on April 15 to support awareness for The Ability Experience, while working with a fraternity from a different council to unify the community. Proceeds from the event will go towards The Ability Experience, as well as March of Dimes, the philanthropy organization of Alpha Phi Alpha.
