Evan Austin, Eta Beta (Indiana State) stood atop the competition in London on Sept. 9, 2019 as a World Champion Paralympian in the men’s-50 meter fly S7, finishing in 29.71 seconds.
Austin, who has competed with Team USA in both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Paralympic, expressed in a U.S. Paralympics press release that he was ecstatic to reach a milestone in his career with his first major medal, and is already looking forward to his next
“More importantly, I got a spot for Team USA next year, and that’s really huge for us,” Our men’s team really needs it, so I’m just glad I could do my part for Team USA.”
Austin graduated from Indiana State in 2015 and consistently speaks on behalf of The Ability Experience at Pi Kapp College for Chapter Officers each year. In 2017, he was a recipient of Pi Kappa Phi’s 30-Under-30 Award, which recognizes high-achieving young alumni.
