The award was created in 2012 to honor Rick Barnes, FarmHouse International President, and his long-term service to their organization and the entire fraternal movement. Durward is being recognized for his long-time service to Pi Kappa Phi in addition to acting “as a mentor to others, as an advocate for risk management education and as a role model of the interfraternal spirit,” according to FarmHouse’s press release.
