Dr. Digh named Distinguished Professor of the Year at Mercer

Dr. Andy Digh (right)

Brother Digh is the faculty advisor for the Alpha Alpha Chapter.

He completed his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Ashville. He also has a M.S. in computer science and a Ph.D. in instructional technology from the University of Tennessee.

His favorite quotes speak to his character:  “If you can dream it, you can do it” by Walt Disney and “Reach for it, push yourself as hard as you can” by Christa McAuliffe (teacher who died in Space Shuttle Challenger distaster).

When asked why did you become a teacher, his response was: “I was born to be a teacher. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to be. What other profession offers a person an opportunity to touch so many lives?”

When asked why he joined Pi Kappa Phi, his response was “Pi Kapp’s [values], their philanthropy, and members of extremely high character who excel both inside & outside of the classroom first attracted me.”

Brother Digh is a leading example in our fraternity and on campus at Mercer University. Go Bears!
