One of the signature annual events of the Charleston Alumni Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity is the recognition of those men who were initiated into the fraternity 50 or 60 years ago (Golden / Diamond Legion). This year those present to be recognized were Samm Mcconnell, Teddy Blanchard, Thurston Stokes Gramling, Daniel Ravenel, Blaine Richardson, Claude Timmerman, Jack Huguley, Rob Adams and Chuck Gordon.
Each of them addressed the crowd bringing laughs, tears and great memories with them. The common theme seemed to be that they all felt their closest friendships were present in the room and that the fraternity had and continues to have major impact on their lives.
My advice to all Pi Kapp alumni in the Charleston area is to make sure you are there next year. This is a “don’t miss” event.
