Beta Omicron Alumni Elected to Natchitoches Area Jaycees Executive Committee

Chris Lyles and Chad Hancock, both alumni of the Beta Omicron Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity at Northwestern State University, have been selected to serve on the 2019 executive committee of the Natchitoches Area Jaycees.

Lyles will serve as president, while Hancock was elected treasurer at the group’s January 18 meeting.

“I’m very excited to be the president of Natchitoches Area Jaycees for 2019,” Lyles said.

“This organization has provided me the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals that simply want to make Natchitoches a better place to live and work. Moving into 2019 we will focus on recruitment of new members and look to revamp some of our community events. It’s going to be a fun year!”

The Jaycees are involved in many charitable projects that raise more than $80-thousand each year for community organizations. Annual projects include the Make A Smile Happen (MASH) Christmas toy drive, Cookin’ on the Cane Barbecue Festival, sponsoring a boys baseball team, the annual Greenwing outdoors safety event, and delivering Valentine’s Day flowers to area nursing homes.

The Natchitoches chapter has been active since 1956. The organization is a charismatic group of young professionals from many backgrounds, contributing thousands of service hours annually. According to its website, Jaycees also provides “opportunities to network, make new friends, learn the art of delegation, improve upon planning and public speaking skills, make a difference in the lives of others, and make a difference in your life and in the life of our local community.”

Several Pi Kappa Phi alumni have served as president of the Natchitoches Jaycees in recent years, including Jon Caliste, David Greene, Alan Pasch, and Jason Stelly.
