The group had started in Sarasota that morning, biking about 50 miles in total, through Pinellas County and into Largo. Their long journey is set to conclude in Tallahassee this weekend, but their goal is a decades-old tradition of raising awareness on behalf of people with disabilities. The Ability Experience, the philanthropic arm of the fraternity, began using bike rides to raise awareness, first with a national bike ride called Journey of Hope, as it is now known. The fraternity wanted to lead the charge on supporting the community of those with disabilities, explained Nick Julian, logistics coordinator for the Florida bike ride.
