2020 Thirty Under 30: Merrick Seekins

Merrick is exceptional because he constantly challenges himself to be better which inspires others around him. He was initiated in the Theta Phi chapter and during his time as an active member he served as the chapter’s special events chair and was very involved on campus. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2013 with a degree in Professional Aviation. Upon finishing his flight instruction hours, he started a career with Envoy Air Inc. formerly known as American Eagle. When he started, he was the youngest pilot working for the company at 21 years old. In two years’, he was promoted to Captain and was the youngest Captain in the company at 23-years-old. He now works as a Pilot and a Line Check Airman helping to train new pilots after they finish their simulator training. He is most proud that he has been trusted to command an aircraft and teach others to do the same. When he is not flying, he volunteers with the Ronald McDonald House Charities where he cooks and serves meals to the families staying there. He knows that Pi Kappa Phi gave him the confidence at a young age to be a leader.
