Marcus shows passion and wholehearted devotion to his job and every organization he is a part of. During his undergraduate experience, he served the Beta Iota chapter as scholarship chairman, treasurer, and archon. He graduated from the University of Toledo and started his career in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry. He has been able to work for a few companies throughout his short but successful career. He has been a manufacturing engineer working on the development and manufacturing of drugs for treatments for Alzheimer’s, autism, leukemia and diabetes. Recently, he has begun a new job as a Plant Engineer at Xellia Pharmaceuticals working to revitalize the facility in order to manufacture the antibiotic Vancomycin to remove it from the FDA’s drug shortage list. Professionally, he is most proud of working in an industry that has a direct positive impact on patients and their lives. As an undergrad and now alumnus, he participates in Ability Weekends at Sunshine Communities of Northwest Ohio and takes pride in seeing projects he completed as a student still being used today. He has also volunteered for Pi Kappa Phi in the past, serving as a chapter advisor for the Eta Tau Associate Chapter at the University of Kentucky. Outside of the Fraternity he volunteers as a coach for his local youth hockey league, he enjoys seeing the kids improve their skills while having fun playing. Without a doubt he believes the fraternity has also influenced his drive and vision for the future, helping him identify the areas in which he would like to grow and develop a desired skill set and path for his future.
