Michael Jones

Mike graduated from UMBC summa cum laude in 2013 before cycling for Journey of Hope’s North Route later that summer. After Journey of Hope arrival in Washington DC, Mike began law school at George Washington University. While at George Washington, he competed in and won the Grenadier International Moot Court Competition, won Best Speaker in the Gujarat International Law Moot Court Competition in India, wrote and facilitated George Washington University’s Van Vleck Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition, and joined the George Washington Law Review where he went on to become the Senior Articles Editor. In 2016 he moved to Hawaii to clerk in the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii before moving to Kansas in 2017 to clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. In the near future, he plans to move back to Washington DC to work for the Department of Justice as a federal prosecutor in the Criminal Enforcement Section of the Tax Division. Mike cites Journey of Hope as something he is extremely proud of and something that has helped immensely in his career with learning how to work more effectively with people.
