Dayton students harness the “Power of 100”

Colin Johnson and Shane Jabir, two students and founding fathers of the Iota Pi Chapter (Dayton), have established Hammocks that Help, a for profit company that sells handmade, high quality Nicaraguan hammocks. Harnessing what they've dubbed the "Power of 100," Hammocks that Help take a portion of the profits from every 100 hammocks sold to build a house for a family in need in Nicaragua.

Our Island in the Sun by Garry & Carol Domnisse

Published in 2003, Our Island in the Sun provided an in-depth look at life aboard a boat on a 25,000 mile voyage. Written by Pi Kappa Phi alumnus Garry Domnisse, Alpha Zeta (Oregon State), and his wife Carol, the narrative is given from both author's point of view while also being accompanied by extensive use of charts, excerpts from their logs, quotes, photographs and more.

Tampa area alumni reunion held

On Saturday, August 2, Pi Kappa Phi alumni residing in the Tampa area held an end of summer BBQ. Seven alumni gathered at the home of Scott Middlebrooks for a casual afternoon around the grill. Brothers Don Clark (Beta Kappa - Georgia State), Joseph Wessel (Beta Lambda - Tampa), Brad Lewis, Scott Middlebrooks, Franklin Clark, Stephen Messer, and Chris Spring (Beta Eta - Florida State) were all in attendance.
