This summer, Kyle Gacke, and Connor O'Neill will bike for 4,000 miles Ñ 67-straight days Ñ starting from San Francisco and ending up in Washington, D.C. Gacke and O'Neill are two University of Iowa juniors participating in the bike ride, called the Journey of Hope, which is organized through the philanthropy their fraternity Pi Kappa Phi owns.

The Weeks lost their two sons, Stone and Holt, in 2009 at the hands of a devastating car crash. Stone is considered a Founding Father of Pi Kappa Phi here at the University of Delaware (Theta Nu) and is remembered for his genuine, caring personality and utmost love for philanthropy.

The Miami-Dade Police Department is pleased to announce that Officer Robert Santana Jr. has been awarded the departmental Lifesaving Award and selected Distinguished Officer of the Month for April 2015. Robert is an alumnus from the Theta Delta Chapter (Florida International).
On September 28, 2014, while on patrol, Officer Santana heard the dispatcher relay a call of a possible drowning at a residence and immediately responded. Upon arriving at the residence, Officer Santana rushed to the backyard and was met by a female who advised her husband was at the bottom of the pool. The wife stated that her husband had been swimming with their two daughters, when one of the daughters realized her father was at the bottom of the pool and called out for her mother.
The wife ran outside and attempted to pull her husband out of the pool but was not strong enough to pull him out completely. She then attempted to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), but had to stop when he began to vomit. She briefly left her husband at the side of the pool and ran into the house to call 911. When she ran back outside, she found that her husband had slipped back into the pool.
MOULTRIE Ñ Quite often we hear of individuals performing tremendous feats of endurance to bring attention to a particular mission. And so Moultrie's own Reed Wells joins those ranks in June when he will bicycle across the continental United States to raise awareness and support for those with mental and physical disabilities. The journey will end on Aug. 8.
