Gamma Beta Chapter re-chartered at Old Dominion

Gamma Beta Chapter

The 35 founding fathers were initiated by the men of Eta Iota (Christopher Newport) and Zeta Epsilon (George Mason).

Representing the national fraternity at the chapter’s re-chartering banquet were Assistant Executive Director of Chapter Development Chris Conner, Eta Iota (Christopher Newport); and Leadership Consultant Garrett Hamblen, Eta Beta (Indiana State). Old Dominion University was represented by the Associate Director of Leadership & Student Involvement Chris Jefferson. Chapter Advisor Danny Coates, Eta Iota (Christopher Newport), and Regional Governor Sean Cronin, Eta Iota (Christopher Newport) were also in attendance.

During his keynote address, Woody challenged the newly-initiated brothers to truly live the fraternity’s Ritual in their daily lives. “The saying goes, you are judged by the company you keep,” Woody remarked. “Thank you for making me proud of the company I keep.”

In his remarks, Conner reminded the men of the fraternity’s Student Creed and their obligation to develop into better citizens. “Ultimately, it’s about our obligations to ourselves, our campus, our community, and our country,” said Timmes. “I look forward to returning to your chapter and hearing about your success; but for now, I will just say, well done, brothers.”

While accepting the chapter’s charter, Archon Calum Welch thanked all of the re-founding fathers for their hard work and diligence over the past year to achieve this milestone.
