Residing in Washington, DC, David Straka, Jr., Alpha Nu (Ohio State), is a legislative correspondent for United States Representative Bill Johnson (OH-06). After graduation, Straka went on to obtain a master’s of public affairs from Indiana University while remaining in the workforce. Straka exemplifies responsible citizenship, which is evident in his career. After interning for Senator Todd Young (IN), Straka became staff assistant for U.S. Senator Rob Portman (OH) and was soon promoted to intern coordinator and office manager. Just before the pandemic, he was hired by Congressman Johnson to work on a wide-ranging legislative portfolio. Through his participation in virtual Ability Experience races, Straka continues to develop empathy through meaningful experiences. This passion for serving his community and raising awareness is something David brings to Capitol Hill.
