The news was devastating to the college community and especially the sisters of Delta Zeta. Miranda had a close tie to Pi Kappa Phi, being the pledge sister of Elizabeth Paul, Lavaliere of Stephen Foy, ZT 323 Archon.
After the tragic news was released, the brothers of the Zeta Tau chapter stepped up in a big way. Each brother went to Delta Zeta to place a rose in the chair that Miranda sat in each week, shared their condolences to the sisters and knelt to sing The Rose to the empty seat as a symbolic gesture of respect.
Later in the week, after the funeral and memorial services had passed, they organized a special catered dinner and served the sisters. The brothers intended to give Delta Zeta sisters a comfortable and safe place to congregate, grieve and celebrate the life of their fallen sister. The audience included active sisters and alumni.
