The Zeta Alpha Chapter was officially rechartered on Saturday March 7, 2015. The chapter was installed by Scott Gasparini, Zeta Alpha (Clemson) and Rondal ‘Ron’ Johnson, Epsilon Lambda (USC Ð Upstate), respectively. The 70 re-founding fathers were initiated into Pi Kappa Phi by the men of Delta (Furman), Epsilon Eta (Winthrop), and Epsilon Lambda (USC Ð Upstate). The initiation teams also initiated 10 alumni.
Representing the national fraternity at the chapter’s chartering banquet were Director of Chapter Development Scott D. Leighty, Epsilon Alpha (Elon), Director of Chapter Operations Ryan M. Lugabihl, Eta Upsilon (Miami – OH), and Leadership Consultant Gary R. Sugg, Delta Zeta (Appalachian State). Members of the Clemson University community in attendance included Dean of Campus Life/Associate Vice President Dr. George Smith, Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life Dr. Gary Wiser, and Graduate Assistant Harriette-Graham Baker. Many alumni were present for the rechartering as well, including Zeta Alpha #1 Kenneth Gillespie.
During his keynote address, Pi Kappa Phi Chief Executive Officer Mark E. Timmes told the story of the founding of the Zeta Alpha Chapter and challenged the re-founding fathers to truly live out the values in The Student Creed. Dr. Smith urged the men to continue to be leaders and make a difference on campus.
Clemson and Pi Kappa Phi are proud of Zeta Alpha and look forward to all that they will accomplish.
