12 families from the Down Syndrome Association of Roanoke were in attendance. Some highlights of the event were the ten carnival games such as ring toss, corn hole and basketball run by over 30 brothers from the chapter. Hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy were also served for the families to eat. There was a face painter and the kids won stuffed animals and other small prizes. The school mascot, Rooney, was in attendance too and helped hand out prizes. While the carnival was open, a singing group at Roanoke called Looking for an Echo preformed and the chapter ran a Pie a Pi Kapp fundraiser outside. Overall this event went great and the Xi Chapter can’t wait until it happens again next year.
