Xi Chapter has strong spring semester

We have recently completed a very successful spring rush and currently have nine new associate members. In addition, we have been ramping up our philanthropy efforts to reach our new fundraising goal of $6,000 dollars this calendar year. We recently held a fundraiser, “Push-ups for Pi Kapps,” which we conducted during the lunch block on a sunny day in our beautiful back quad area. The chapter was able to raise a substantial amount of money in an hour and a half for The Ability Experience thanks to the participation of our brotherhood.

As a chapter, we have also been active within the community; we have an established partnership with the Down Syndrome Association of Roanoke. We have been visiting with their members on a consistent basis for the last couple of years, and this school year has presented a few fantastic meetings, including assisting with their Christmas party.

We also have an established partnership with the Best Buddies International club on our campus who hold monthly sessions with Hopetree Family Services, a local organization that assists adults with disabilities. The chapter is also gearing up for out philanthropy week, which is April 3-7, and Alumni Weekend at Roanoke College which is April 8th and 9th. We are very excited to see all of our great alumni that plan on coming back. The spring semester has been very strong for Xi thus far and we are very excited to see where the rest of the year takes us.
