Pi Kappa Phi is privileged to have over 1,300 volunteers nationwide, who give their time, talent and treasures to ensure the men of Pi Kappa Phi are afforded an outstanding fraternity experience.
Why do I volunteer for Pi Kappa Phi? There are various answers to this question; I will attempt to answer the question with as much brevity as I can. First, I simply have a passion for the Fraternity that I want to share and spread to those around me. I believe in the values and ideals of Pi Kappa Phi, and being able to share this with the men of Alpha is important. Second, a chapter advisor has the ability to assist in teaching life lessons to undergraduates. Two lessons I try to reiterate are 1) Be smart and do the right thing and 2) Build relationships. If these two simple rules are followed throughout one’s life, in most cases, they will find themselves in successful situations. Third, I hope to have a positive impact on each of the undergraduate members of the Alpha Chapter. Success can be defined in many different ways; however, I do not believe success is measured by square footage, the kind of car you drive, or the amount of money you make. I believe success is being able to make a positive impact on the lives of those around you. If I am able to accomplish this with each of the men of the Alpha Chapter before they graduate, I have succeeded. In the end, when you are able to observe those you advise truly understand Pi Kappa Phi and you see them become better men, it is then when you realize the many hours of effort are worth every second.
