Mr. Joseph Arnold is a first year professor at Troy University. He is also visually impaired, but he does not let this disability hinder him. He triumphs over this adversity every single day, and is an outstanding professor.
About three weeks ago, Mr. Arnold received a phone call at work, explaining that his house had just burned to the ground. Yes, the insurance is covering many costs, but it is not replacing one valuable item in particular, his eSight. This piece of equipment allows Mr. Arnold to see, which enables him to more easily prepare lesson plans, grade work and most importantly see his family. It is an overall improvement to his quality of life, and the chapter would like to see the campus come together and replace the eSight.
This Thursday, October 6, the Troy Pi Kapps will be holding several events at the Trojan Center Quad throughout the day. Events will include a 24-hour stationary bike ride, a bbq, bake sale, as well as “empathy cornhole” (blindfolded).
The chapter is asking all to please join in helping their professor. Their GoFundMe page can be found at the link below.
