“A simple message of empathy, rather than sympathy, and acceptance is all it takes to break down the barrier of ignorance,” said Horning, 21, of Brimfield Township.
A University of Toledo student who just finished his junior year, Horning will ride his bike from San Francisco to Washington, D.C., as part of Push America.
“My goal is to spread awareness to look at one’s ability, rather than disability,” he said.
