Theta Pi brothers elected to University of Texas at Tyler Inter-fraternity council

Austin McGillen, a junior, has been elected president of the Inter-fraternity council (IFC). Matthew Thrasher has been elected the Vice President of Recruitment, Chase Miller has elected the Vice President of Finance, and John Patrick Pinon has been elected the Vice President of Administration.

The governing body exists to perpetuate the best interests of the fraternity organizations it represents. It is dedicated to academic achievement, service to the University and the Tyler communities, as well as the development of leadership through educational programming. The IFC aids chapters in the areas of recruitment, risk management, academic, service, public relations, financial and educational programming.

“One of my big goals for my term this year is to help students change the perspective of Greek Life here at UT-Tyler,” said Brother McGillen. “Both Fraternities in the Inter-fraternity council do so much to enhance the student life at our school and I want everyone to see the good that our Fraternities do on our campus.”

This summer, Brother Chase Miller was among 100 students selected from around the country to participate in Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity’s emerging leaders institute at the University of South Carolina. Miller exclaimed, “I am very excited to take what I have learned from my experiences from Pi Kapp College for Emerging Leaders and apply it not only to my own chapter, but to the Greek community as a whole.”
