Theta Pi brothers bring wheelchair basketball to campus

UT Tyler student organizations, including other UT Tyler fraternities and sororities, competed against each other in the fundraiser for Pi Kappa Phi’s philanthropy and the Tyler Thorns.

“Events like these highlight the camaraderie of the Greek community at UT Tyler, as we all pull together for a great cause and support each other as a community,” said Sean Reinertson, Pi Kappa Phi’s Ability Experience chairman.

A sizable crowd showed up to cheer on the players, including family and friends of the Tyler Thorns and dozens of UT Tyler students. More than $400 were raised from ticket sales and team registration fees, which will be split by the Thorns and The Ability Experience.

The Tyler Thorns came out on top at the tournament, but several of the teams are already looking forward to a re-match next Spring.
