The Theta Alpha Chapter continually recruits and produces leaders on their campus and within the national fraternity. They constantly have student government leaders, IFC executive council members, orientation leaders, as well as members participating in The Ability Experience events and Pi Kappa Phi national events such as Pi Kapp College for Emerging Leaders. This just brushes the surface.
With all of their success, the chapter was still dwelling in a house much smaller than the rest on campus, leaving them with a disadvantage when it comes to the housing aspect of recruitment. They have made it their own, though, and have thrived in that house, becoming one of the leading fraternities at Southern Miss as well as nationally within Pi Kappa Phi.
Being at a university with campus-owned Greek housing, their housing options have long been limited. This past January, a larger, more competitive fraternity house became available. To most, the choice to live in a better house would be a no-brainer, but the Theta Alpha undergraduates and alumni thought long and hard before making the move. Their small house had become their home and moving on was a difficult decision. Having decided to live in the new house, the chapter is excited and ready to continue to shape exceptional leaders.
