Event: Journey of Hope 2016
Hometown: Houston, Texas
Why did you sign up for this event?
It has always been my mission to help people with disabilities. As a person living with a disability, I am fortunate enough to be able to do this event and give back to my own community and be a voice for them.
Why did you decide to come back?
This is my second time doing this trip. I am blessed to have the opportunity to do it once again because hopefully I will be able to see the people we impact each year. The joy from everyone’s smiles will forever be embedded into my heart.
What are you most excited for this summer?
I am mostly excited to hopefully be able to see familiar faces again and see the transformations of team members.
What is your favorite memory from last year’s summer event?
I have several memories from last year that I will never forget but to keep my list short, I’ll provide 2. One was being able to take a private tour of Lincoln, NE Capitol Building with an amazing person, Lynn Redding. And two, when Sue and Jim Hamilton opened up their homes to me for a night before going back to the team.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
A fun fact about me is that I am currently writing a memoir and I love playing Wheelchair Rugby.
