Event: Journey of Hope 2016 Cyclist
Hometown: Moorestown, NJ
Why did you sign up for this event?
When I first learned about this event as an associate member my freshman year, I thought to myself, “Who in their right mind would bike across the country?” As a member of Pi Kappa Phi, and working with our philanthropy, my mind was opened to how great an effect our cause makes in the community around us. Pi Kappa Phi has given me everything at the University of Miami. My brothers have become my family here, as I am 1,000 miles away from home. I could not think of a better way to give back to this brotherhood and the people that we help then going on this journey.
What are you most excited for this summer?
This summer, I am most excited for the experiences I will share with Pi Kappa Phi brothers from across the country. I cannot wait to get to meet the team of guys that I will bike across the country with. I am also extremely excited about the numerous friendship visits. The Ability Experience supports an amazing cause and I am looking forward to helping spread our message of awareness and acceptance of those with disabilities.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
A fun fact about myself is that I raced at USRowing Youth National Championships two times in high school while also participating in three orchestras. I was the concertmaster of my high school’s orchestra for my Junior and Senior years.
