Members enjoyed a weekend packed with fraternal bonding and recognition in Louisville, Ky. for Pi Kappa Phi’s 2019 Summer Alumni Reunion. Chapters from across the country were represented with members of ages ranging from 20 to 89 years old.
Throughout the weekend, alumni and their guests explored the city of Louisville, attended the Louisville Bats baseball game and toured the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory.
The weekend culminated with a reception and awards banquet honoring Pi Kappa Phi’s most outstanding alumni. National President Jeremy Galvin welcomed members before announcing the recipients of the Mr. Pi Kappa Phi and Connie Owen Order of the Rose awards.
During the awards presentation, past Regional Governor and National Chaplain Walt Sheppard, Alpha Upsilon (Drexel), and past National President and Merit Citation recipient David Jaffee, Alpha (College of Charleston), were both distinguished with the Mr. Pi Kappa Phi Award.
The Connie Owen Order of the Rose Award recipient was Ms. Dianne Woody, wife of Mr. Pi Kappa Phi Award recipient Allen O. Woody III. The award, authorized by the National Council in 2014, recognizes the exceptional efforts of Pi Kappa Phi members’ spouses in advancing the mission of the fraternity.
Pi Kappa Phi looks forward to seeing its members reconvene again next at the 57th Supreme Chapter in Baltimore in July, and at the Summer Alumni Reunion in St. Louis, Missouri in 2021.
