This opportunity for students to take a break from exams and hang out with adorable pups supports two great causes: The Ability Experience and Natchitoches Hope for Paws.
February 21, students and faculty members made donations to The Ability Experience, Pi Kappa Phi’s philanthropy which serves people with disabilities, in exchange for quality time with the shelter’s rescue animals.
“Our pups enjoyed the extra attention and love shown them. All in all the event was a great success,” the shelter posted on their Facebook page.
The event, now in its third year, also allowed Pi Kappa Phi members to engage their peers in a conversation about the vision of the philanthropy, “to create a community, one relationship at a time, where the abilities of all people are recognized and valued.”
Pi Kappa Phi raised more than $230 in donations and t-shirt sales, all benefiting the Ability Experience.
