Day of Giving 2024

Join the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, and make an investment in our brotherhood.

What is Pi Kappa Phi Day of Giving?

The Pi Kappa Phi Foundation hosts an annual Day of Giving on or near our Founders’ Day. The Pi Kappa Phi Day of Giving celebrates the history of the Fraternity, while supporting future generations of brothers.

Pi Kappa Phi Day of Giving will take place on December 10, 2024, with a goal of raising $250,000 from more than 600 donors. This annual opportunity allows brothers to come together to celebrate Pi Kappa Phi’s impact, share their stories of why they support the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation and help ensure a positive experience for current and future undergraduate and alumni members of the Fraternity.

In 2024, we celebrate 120 years of Pi Kappa Phi. One hundred and twenty years of brothers believing in the mission of our founders, giving back to the organization and believing in the principles of common loyalty and lifelong commitment. We hope you will make an investment in Pi Kappa Phi because you believe in the power of our brotherhood.

WHY GIVE?

Because Pi Kappa Phi matters to our brotherhood.

Your investment helps our student members grow and develop.
  • Through augmented prevention education programs and updated training modules, we help our young men make responsible decisions, live by the values of ultimate respect and hold each other accountable in all facets of the undergraduate experience.
  • Every chapter has an opportunity to engage with prevention education programming each year. Through these shared experiences and new member education, we provide every man the opportunity for personal growth.
  • Fraternity members have statistically higher comfort levels in providing accountability in the areas of academics, relationships, professional/career and hazing.*
Your investment allows Pi Kappa Phi to continue to develop exceptional leaders.
  • Pi Kapp College for Chapter Officers will take place in Pittsburgh, Birmingham and Dallas in January. Each chapter leader will attend in person or online training.
  • 83% of fraternity members indicate stronger leadership confidence because of their fraternity membership.*
Your investment encourages service before self each day within all of our chapters.
  • Our chapter officers lead their brothers and chapters forward as our brothers participate on campus and our chapters work to better their communities.
  • Each chapter will receive in-person visits from our outstanding group of leadership consultants and personalized coaching to ensure the next generation of Pi Kappa Phi embodies the spirit of servant leadership that sets our brotherhood apart.
  • Fraternity members spend significantly more time volunteering, mentoring and doing other types of service work, feeling a stronger connection to and being more engaged in their communities as servant leaders.*
Your investment fosters community.
  • In the summers of 2023 and 2024, the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation fully funded a training academy for each chapter warden focused on new member education that emphasized a sense of healthy belonging. This innovative program was a resounding success, with member retention increasing over each of the three semesters since the program’s inception.
  • Fraternity members in general report higher levels of positive mental health, with nearly 80% reporting good to excellent mental health and a strong sense of well-being.*

FAQs

Why does Day of Giving occur on Founders’ Day?
Founders’ Day is a natural fit for Pi Kappa Phi’s Day of Giving. It is an important date in our brotherhood’s history and is a day for our brothers and friends to give back.

Who can contribute?
Anyone! To be eligible for competition prizes, be sure to pick your favorite chapter at the time of your donation. You do not need to be a member of a chapter to choose it when you donate. Donations less than $19.04 will not qualify for the donor count category.

Can chapters make donations through OmegaFi?

No. If an undergraduate chapter, alumni chapter or alumni association wishes to make a donation, we ask them to donate through our Day of Giving link.

How can I support/promote the Pi Kappa Phi Day of Giving?
To support our Day of Giving with a gift, please visit our Day of Giving donation page.

  • Share our posts on social media or post them to specific Pi Kappa Phi groups you belong to.
  • Make a gift in honor of a brother who made an impact on you. These tributes will be shared in the 2025 annual report edition of the Star & Lamp!
  • You can also sign up to be a chapter captain and receive a Pi Kappa Phi Day of Giving toolkit to ensure your chapter has a successful day and a chance to win our chapter competitions. If you are interested in learning more about being a chapter captain, please contact Becky Smith.

Are there any incentives for giving?
Yes. We will have some special Pi Kappa Phi branded items for donors giving at least $19.04.

I gave already this year; will that count towards the Day of Giving?
Gifts given through our specific campaign link will count toward Day of Giving. If you prefer to give by check, you may do so, but checks must be received by December 10 with a specific request to count the gift in our Day of Giving campaign. Don’t forget to include a chapter if you want to participate in the competitions!

Is my gift tax deductible?
The Pi Kappa Phi Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and all gifts made to it are tax deductible.

Will I receive a receipt?
Yes. You will receive an email receipt at the address provided at the time of donation.

Can I take advantage of my employer’s matching gift program?
Yes. Follow your employer’s process as you would for any other charitable donation.

Can I make a gift to my chapter’s Chapter Investment Fund?
We encourage unrestricted giving during our Day of Giving campaign, but if you prefer to make a gift to a Chapter Investment Fund or other restricted fund, please note this on your donation. If you do not, the donation will be allocated to our unrestricted Leadership Fund. Unfortunately, donations cannot be recoded after the conclusion of Day of Giving.

I still have questions. Who can I contact?
For additional questions, please contact Becky Smith.
