Alpha Lambda Chapter House
The chapter remained dormant for more than 60 plus years before recolonizing in 2013. But long before Pi Kappa Phi returned to Ole Miss, the search for a house was underway.
The expansion began and the expansion ended with no place for the Alpha Lambda Chapter to call home. Fast forward more than a year to the fall 2014 semester when an answer appeared. The Sigma Phi Epsilon chapter house was vacant after the chapter’s closure earlier in the year and with housing being such a priority for competitive fraternities and sororities at Ole Miss, action had to be made quickly. Pi Kappa Phi Properties began working with Sigma Phi Epsilon’s local house corporation to work out a deal. With the semester already underway and all of the Pi Kapp’s living elsewhere, Pi Kappa Phi Properties and the local house corporation came to an agreement to lease the common space to the chapter. The chapter was able to use the house’s common areas to hold chapter meetings, hang out, and host social events.
After finding a short-term housing solution for the chapter, a long-term solution presented itself. The Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity house became vacant for the 2015 Ð 2016 school year and once again, Pi Kappa Phi Properties jumped on the opportunity. Starting this fall, the Alpha Lambda Chapter will be leasing the Delta Kappa Epsilon chapter house for three years and have 31 men living in the house.
