“We’re glad that Georgia Tech’s 2017 Homecoming was such a roaring success. Brother Ryan Trickett did a fantastic job designing our pomp this year. Also shoutout to Brother Daniel Wu for being our homecoming chair and making sure all of our events went smoothly! Tech’s football team winning last night was a great way to conclude homecoming week! #GoJackets #pikappaphi”

Each fall, Georgia Tech fraternities and sororites participate in the Pomp Homecoming Display competition following the Homecoming theme of the year. Constructing a pomp involves building a frame out of wood, covering it with chicken wire and inserting sheets of tissue paper into the chicken wire to make a design. Most groups go wiht a 4’x8′ size but the Iota Chapter chose to combine 24 4’x8′ panels stacked to create the largest pomp on campus. This year’s theme was “Ramblin’ 20’s.” Pi Kappa Phi received the Most Impressive Size award, 3rd Place for their Pomp and 10th Place overall in Homecoming this year. Congrats gentlement!
