North Route 2008: Home of Top Gun

We all quickly woke up when we found our great breakfast provided by the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada. Let me be the first to tell you that the breakfast they cooked for us was amazing, featuring pancakes and sausage.

The team all got their fill and quickly got on the road towards Fallon, Nevada. Fallon is a cool stop on Journey of Hope because part of the movie Top Gun was filmed at the Fallon Air Station which we cycled past.

Today was a special ride for all of us riders because it was the last day that North and South rode together. We rode with our south friends and took in the whole day together. The team arrived at Numa Elementary School where everyone was welcomed with open arms by Fallon Industries. It was great to see people who were so excited to see us.

We all had a great trip to the store to pick up some things we needed, and washed the cars as well. That night, when we got back from the store everyone had a great dinner with Fallon Industries. They fed us with some great BBQ which really hit the spot after our long day of riding. That night there was a dance party and friendship visit with the community of Fallon. It was a great time!

Zachary Pace rapped “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice for every one at the party. That night we all went to sleep knowing that the next day we would have to say goodbye to all our friends on the south route. Good night all!
