Day 26

Today we arrived at Camp C.A.M.P on a short drive from Lubbock Texas. We as a team woke up and had breakfast in the house we were staying at then got in the vans to head to Camp C.A.M.P. When we arrived at the camp we were greeted by the former CEO of The Ability Experience Ken Kizer. He treated to a warm southern welcome with a ton of snacks that ranged from chips to sandwiches as well as sodas. After going to unpack the vans we all learned a new game called Signs. We spent a few hours playing this game and then proceeded back to lodging . As the day went on and we got settled in. A few of us played volleyball in the hot Texas weather. We went to dinner shortly after we wrapped up playing volleyball. At dinner we were fed hamburgers and hot dogs courtesy of the camp. Following the dinner we went to the pool and proceeded to play signs again for a few hours. Right before we were all about to get out a belly flop contest started. Even our project manager Nick Julian decided to join in. The night rolled in and we cleaned the vans as a team. Finally we all decided it was time for bed.

Day 25

Today our group woke up and packed up our belongings before we disembarked from Rocky Mountain Village in Empire, CO for Lubbock, TX. After we were ready to leave, we got into our vans and drove to St. Mary's Glacier, the site of our official Build America team photo. We were all taken aback by the view, while also coming to the realization that we had officially completed three of our six visits to summer camps around the country. We headed back to Rocky Mountain Village to say our final goodbyes to the campers we had grown so close with over the course of the week, and also took the time to thank the staff for their support of our endeavours. After a lengthy car ride to Lubbock, we got to enjoy some incredible barbecue from our sponsers while exchanging numerous laughs and stories with all in attendance. We wrapped up the night by exploring the city of Lubbock, and Dustin Brown showed us how to truly immerse yourself in the lifestyle of the locals. It's safe to say that after one day in Texas, I'm extremely excited to be spending then next week in this state.
