Velasquez, 21, a 2011 graduate of Bangor Township John Glenn High School, recently completed a 3,629-mile bicycle journey from San Francisco to Washington, D.C., as part of Push America’s Journey of Hope. The trek helped raise money for those with disabilities.
“I know that other than getting married and having kids, this was the best experience of my life,” said Velasquez, adding the trip “blew away all expectations.”
“This summer was the best I’ll ever have.”
