The entire school votes for this highly touted opportunity to represent the university. “As a member of Pi Kappa Phi in conjunction with The University of Texas at Tyler I could not be more honored and proud to accept the award of Mr. UT Tyler,” Van Der Schans said. “Receiving this award gratifies my success as a student and furthermore enhances my development as a leader during the remainder of my undergraduate career and beyond.”
Van Der Schans currently serves as secretary of Pi Kappa Phi, student body vice president, and is a member of the UT Tyler Patriots tennis team.
