A 2007 graduate of Elon University, Michael Bumbry has been a dedicated alumnus to both Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and Elon University. He received a master’s in higher education from North Carolina State University. The first man of color to receive the Phillip M. Summers Award, he has been dedicated to supporting diversity and the fraternal movement as a higher education professional. Michael has worked tirelessly to improve student’s lives on a multitude of campuses. This includes developing new curriculum for Greek students at Duke University, forming a counseling group for gay fraternity men, leading the Mid-Atlantic College and University Housing Officers at Temple, creating a student affairs interest organization at NC State, and designing curriculum for aspiring student affairs leaders at Loyola. Bumbry is currently working toward his doctorate in higher education at Loyola University.
