That man is Thaddeus Richard of the Beta Mu Chapter at McNeese State. On his own, Thad raised $1,860 for people with disabilities. In addition to receiving a $100 gift card to the Pi Kapp Store, Thad also got to answer these questions.
What’s your major?
Psychology.
Year in school?
Just completed freshman year.
How excited were you when you found out your chapter won March Madness?
We were in an SGA meeting, and our Archon announced it to the legislature, and I almost cried with excitement.
Why do you support The Ability Experience?
I support it because it doesn’t just write a check to people that need it, but it actually helps and gets involved in people’s lives.
Do you have any fundraising tips for other Pi Kappa Phi undergraduates?
No matter how many people you may think you’ve annoyed for money, you can always find one more.
What message would you send to Pi Kapps across the nation who are looking to get more involved?
I would tell them that it takes a small gesture to make a difference. That could be to go and play ball with children with disabilities or to raise money for someone that you may never meet. In the end, you are going to make a difference in someone’s life.
What are you going to spend your $100 gift card on?
I am going to spend that money on anything with this great Fraternity’s name on it OΔH!
