Kappa Kappa Chapter charters at University of New Mexico

The chapter was installed by current National President Tom Sullivan, Delta Omega (Texas A&M), and Jake Henderson, Beta Theta (Arizona), respectively. The 33 founding fathers were initiated into Pi Kappa Phi by the initiating team of 20 men from the Theta Upsilon Chapter at Northern Arizona University. Overall, it was a memorable evening for everyone involved. The chapter hosted a banquet on campus with over 150 friends and family in attendance.

Representing the national fraternity at the chapter’s chartering banquet were the Director of Chapter Volunteers Beau Samples, Eta Upsilon (Miami), Director of Chapter Development Brent Grunig, Omega (Purdue) and Director of Expansion and Growth James Maloney, Beta Eta (Florida State). University of New Mexico Greek Life Advisor Greg Golden, (Sigma Chi Fraternity) was also in attendance.

In his address and introduction of Tom Sullivan, Chapter Advisor Jeff Mitchell, Eta Omega (New Mexico State), challenged the chapter to cherish each moment in Pi Kappa Phi because you never know who you will meet and where it will take you. Jeff, nearly 20 years prior, received his bid from then staff-member Tom Sullivan. His date to his own chartering banquet was his wife, Kristin, who was also in attendance. National President Tom Sullivan captivated the audience during his keynote address before he and Henderson presenting the Kappa Kappa Chapter with their newly awarded Charter.

The New Mexico Fraternity & Sorority Life community and Pi Kappa Phi are extremely proud of the men of Kappa Kappa and look forward to all that they will accomplish.
