Kappa Gamma Chapter charters at University of Montana

For the chapter, the road to chartering started in the Fall semester of 2012 where they were colonized and welcomed by the Greek community at UM and the city of Missoula.

The weekend was facilitated by Installation Officer Jim Krucher, initiate of the Beta Alpha chapter at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Assistant Installation Officer Will Schiffelbein, initiate and Founding Father of the Iota Kappa chapter at the University of Northern Colorado. In addition to officially instituting the Kappa Gamma chapter, Jim and Will provided the men with a challenge to continually improve and excel at the University of Montana.

On Friday night, an initiation team of 13 men from the Iota Psi chapter at Boise State University helped to welcome the men of Kappa Gamma into the Brotherhood of Pi Kappa Phi.

On Saturday night, the Kappa Gamma chapter hosted a banquet and silent auction, where nearly 100 friends, family, and members of the Missoula community gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the chapter. The banquet was also attended by Dr. Royce Engstrom, President of the University of Montana, who spoke about excelling in and out of the classroom while continually striving to live the values of the fraternity. Pi Kappa Phi would like to thank Dr. Engstrom and looks forward to a strong relationship with the University of Montana.

Lastly, Pi Kappa Phi would like to express its appreciation for the students, advisors, volunteers, university, and National Fraternity staff who put in countless hours to make chartering a reality for these brothers. Undoubtedly, the men of Kappa Gamma have a bright future ahead of them. Welcome to Pi Kappa Phi!
