The brothers were able to obtain stationary bikes which they pedaled non-stop for 12 hours in the hopes of mimicking Gear Up Florida. Gear Up Florida is an event which brothers from Pi Kappa Phi chapters across the country bike 800 miles across Florida stopping at different organizations trying to spread a message of acceptance and understanding to communities that work with people with disabilities.
With the money raised during the bike-a-thon Kappa Epsilon aims to build more handicap accessible amenities around the world in places such as summer camps and community parks. The chapter looks forward to continuing this tradition, repeating this event twice a year in the hopes to ultimately double the money raised the year before.
