The chapter was installed by Pi Kappa Phi National Treasurer Jeremy D. Galvin, Alpha Omicron (Iowa State) and past multiple term National Council member, William ‘Bill’ T. Finney, Gamma Xi (Georgia Southwestern), respectively. The 53 founding fathers were initiated into Pi Kappa Phi by the men of Eta Upsilon (Miami-OH) and Iota Pi (Dayton).
Representing the national fraternity at the chapter’s chartering banquet were Director of Chapter Development Scott D. Leighty, Epsilon Alpha (Elon), and Leadership Consultant Michael ‘Mike’ H. Hale, Iota Lambda (Quinnipiac). Members of the Ball State community in attendance included Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Kay Bales, Associate Director of Student Life Kari Murphy, IFC Vice President Logan Stanger, and Christina Hammond from NPHC. Other guests included Chapter Advisor Derek J. Berger, Beta Xi (Central Michigan), Recruitment Advisor Kate Grove (Alpha Chi Omega), Financial Advisor Grant Fitzgerald, Delta Delta (Truman State), Faculty Advisor Dr. Matthew ‘Matt’ Stuve, Omega (Purdue), and Academic Advisor Dr. Stephen Hessel.
During his keynote address, National Treasurer Jeremy Galvin noted how much the Fraternity has to offer and encouraged the men to take advantage of all of opportunities presented to them. Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Kay Bales challenged the men to continue to be leaders and make a difference on campus.
Ball State and Pi Kappa Phi are proud of Iota Chi and look forward to all that they will accomplish.
