Mark Naufel
“Whether through his university or his community, Mark has demonstrated himself as a born leader,” said Governor Brewer. “Having served in multiple leadership roles at ASU while maintaining an excellent academic record, Mark has proven his ambitious and enthusiastic interest in our state’s higher education issues. He is a welcome addition to ABOR and will continue to be a valuable voice for Arizona students.”
Mark received a bachelor of science in finance with a minor in political science through Arizona State University’s honors college in December. He currently is enrolled in a master’s program at ASU. Mark is active in student government and campus life, having served as Undergraduate Student Body President (2012-2013), President of the Barrett Honors College (2011-2012) and Vice Archon of Theta Xi Chapter (2011-2012).
Additionally, Mark served as an Assistant Chief of Police Selection Committee Member for the ASU Police Department (2012) and currently is a student representative for the Technology Advisory Board, ASU Council of Presidents and Sun Devil Fitness Complex Board of Governors.
Mark’s two-year term with the Arizona Board of Regents will begin July 1, 2014, pending confirmation by the Arizona State Senate. He replaces Kaitlin Thompson, whose term is expiring.
