After seeking out a few sponsors and getting donations from family and friends, the chapter managed to start the event with $2,000 to bring the event to the campus of Augusta University.
The goals for the Gamma Psiclathon were to raise $1,200, ride 150 cumulative miles, and raise awareness for The Ability Experience and its mission on campus. These goals were surpassed in flying color.
Associate brothers and students on campus helped ride the bike for 16 hours and over 266 miles during that time. Water balloons were also purchased as an incentive for students to throw at brothers on their bikes. As the first bike-a-thon to come to the Augusta campus, it was a major sucess. The Gamma Psi Associate Chapter is ready for the next Gamma Psiclathon; with bigger and brighter goals.
