The chapter held the tournament alongside the Rollin’ Hornets, the professional wheelchair basketball team associated with the Charlotte Hornets NBA team.
The tournament consisted of a single elimination bracket made up of 8 teams. Those participating came from several different backgrounds: there was a team from Averett University in Virginia, a team of Eta Zeta alumni, a team from the national Ability Experience office, as well as teams made up of Greek and non-Greek students alike from Queens.
Each team had the opportunity to draft a Rollin’ Hornets player to be on their team. The winner of the tournament received $50 worth of Chick-fil-A gift cards as well as free Rollin’ Hornets apparel. The event was a great success with over 60 people in attendance, most of which were being introduced to adaptive sports for the first time.
